“Classic Blue” by Pantone

When it comes to color trends you’ll want to know reference the 2020 Pantone Color of the Year, “Classic Blue”. Classic blue is similar to a navy and according to Pantone, the color highlights a “desire for a dependable and stable foundation from which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.” The Pantone Color of the Year is very influential, impacting many industries’ product development, purchasing decisions and design plans. With such an influence in the design space we wanted to lead off with as our first home decor trend!

Natural materials

We are also seeing a lot of natural materials being incorporated into home decor design. These raw elements provide a neutral color palette with a more visually emphasis on the texture of the material itself. Adding them thoughtfully throughout a space can add warmth, homeliness, and a feeling of comfort to any existing style you may have in your home.

Multi-functional Spaces

With busier households, and having to work and learn from home, multi-functional spaces are becoming more relevant as 2020 continues. The trend of open floor plans have already taken off, but finding ways to utilize existing spaces to be multi-functional is the new problem to solve.

A doubling up of space is most commonly seen in dining rooms and kitchen areas.

Livable Luxury

“Livable luxury” is continuing to evolve. Most homeowners want timelessness in whatever style embodies them but also want to find comfort in the spaces they use most.

Finding higher quality items that are functional, stylish, and can withstand years of wear is what makes a space ‘livable luxury’. Throw pillows that don’t start fraying and going flat after a year, coffee tables that don’t chip and scratch and look like they need to be replaced after only purchasing it a few years ago, and the list continues. Taking the time to find more quality pieces that check the boxes for the needs you have is essential nowadays!
